In this drive-through, junk food world it is very challenging to eat healthy. You must have heard about the fact that dieting usually has many backlashes. Improper diet plans can have reverse reactions and can even result in weight gain. So it is advised that before choosing your diet plan you must consult a dietitian. A dietitian is a kind of doctor who checks the metabolic rate of your body, ratio of calorie-in to calorie-out of your body as well as the energy required by your body. A dietitian can suggest you a dieting plan that best suits your body. A dietitian can prescribe you a diet or food plan that helps you to enjoy a healthy lifestyle.
Dietitians play a very important role in the weight loss procedures. They can easily suggest you how much weight you need to reduce as well as the procedure to be followed. You should intimate the dietitian about your body’s behavior to different types of food and appetites. In this way a dietitian will be able to know your body’s reaction and could design a dieting plan that will bring maximum results.
Dietitians have great knowledge in terms of food and nutrition and thus they give you the plan that is flawless if you manage it properly. Moreover they also have knowledge about the percentage of the nutrients in different food items. This makes them more demanding then nutritionists who only deal with the nutrients. When you first visit the dietitian, you will first have to go through some kinds of test in order to get your metabolic rate and other details of your body so that a dietitian can prepare your diet plan. After this a dietitian will give you a plan explaining the food stuff that you can eat and that you cannot eat. It is sure that you won’t regret taking this decision as dietitians have helped a lot of people to achieve great health.
So, hurry visit a dietician today!

For busy people, lunch can be the best time to relax and satisfy their craving stomach. When you’re at work, you don’t have time to cook a low-fat meal. Time is of the essence so you hurry to the nearest canteen and well, choose only from what the canteen serves.

However, it doesn’t mean you can no longer scrap the fats out of your lunch. With these 5 great tips, you can still maintain a healthy lifestyle and maintain your beautiful shape.

1. Drink water before you eat.

Drinking water before lunch is a good way to lower down your appetite. After drinking a glass of ice-cold water, your brain will not be able to identify if your stomach is very hungry so you will tend to eat less. Get away from soda, beers, or any kind of soft drinks. If you don’t like water, then order natural fruit juice instead. You will not just feel full but will also be refreshed.

2. Dress out your salad.

Vegetable salad is so delicious and very healthy. Aside from this, it’s also perfect for dieters like you. However, vegetable salads served in many restaurants have fatty dressings! And they can add a whopping 25g of fat in one serving.

3. Pass the Chips
Chips are very tasty and flavorsome that everybody just loves them. However, chips contain lots of fats that will absolutely ruin your diet regime. So pass the chips. It’s lunch so you’ll not need it.

4. Spread it thin
One teaspoon of mayonnaise contains 11 grams of fats. so if you love to spread 5 teaspoons of mayo on your bread, you’re consuming 55 grams of fats! if you can’t get rid of mayonnaise, choose the low-fat one or- spread it thin!

5. Trade your beefy burger.

Yeah, burgers are just so irresistible. They’re tangy and flavorful and crisp, and do delicious. But they are filled with so many fats. If you really love burgers, go for roasted ones and get away from beef! You can have chicken breast burger as an alternative.

Knowing the right foods and proper motivation will surely make your battle against fats quick, easy and triumphant!

Almost thousands of people around the globe are thinking to lose their weight quickly at a given point of time. There are large numbers of people who think that there are some real permanent solutions for the quick weight loss. Some of them are even ready to try almost anything to shed their weight. In all such ideas, fasting has always been most hot topic of discussion as people think it is the most appropriate way of losing weight.
Is fasting a viable and good way of losing weight quickly? The answer is no due to the various reasons mentioned below. Although it is absolutely correct that fasting helps in losing weight but it won’t help you in loosing fat instead it will result in loss of your fluids.
Reasons for which fasting should not be tried for the losing weight is:
•	Fasting hampers your metabolism—if you want some weight losing solutions for a long term them fasting is worthless as it can even lead to weight gain later.
•	Fasting is very risky—if you are going through some medical treatment or you are internally not so strong then fasting may even worsen the situation making your immune system weaker.
•	Starvation diets are temporary solutions—suppose you are on fast and you started losing weight quickly, but again you started with your previous left lifestyle then you may gain more weight again and it may even lead to obesity.
There are many reasons for which people undergo fasting and get deprived of food, liquids or sometimes from both. They think through this way they will lose weight easily. But most of the medical experts recommend that fasting should never be used for losing weight. There are many other ways through which you can quickly lose your weight.

Wellness of your health directly depends upon the weight of your body. As soon as your weight starts turning towards the obesity side, your body becomes more and more prone to the diseases. Not only the harmful health effects are caused due to weight gain but sometimes just an increase of 10 or 20 pound of extra weight can lead to death.
Let us have a look on some dangers of obesity that are hazardous to life.
•	High blood pressure—obesity results in high blood pressure. About 40 to 70% people are suffering from high BP problem due to overweight. Doctors first advise obese people to lose their weight in order to control their blood pressure.
•	Heart diseases—obesity can cause heart diseases. Moreover the risk of heart diseases increases four times if your BMI comes under obese range. All problems like over body weight, obesity as well as abdominal fat lead to the diabetes which results in the heart diseases. In order to protect your heart you should try to control your body weight gain.
•	Blood cholesterol—your cholesterol level also gets affected due to obesity. As the bad cholesterol i.e. LDL (Low Density Lipoprotein) that should be low to prevent heart diseases increases due to obesity. On the other hand the good cholesterol, HDL (High Density Lipoprotein) that needs to be high for proper health decreases with gain in weight.
•	Cancer—recently various research institutions have proposed that overweight body results in more than 20% of all cancer. The risk of breast cancer also increases with increase in weight as after the menopause estrogen hormone is produced by the body fat.
Now you must have understood that increase in weight can be very hazardous to your body. You might have heard “excess of everything is bad” so you must take care that your weight remains in a nominal range.

Dieting has been a trend for the past decades. Many people aim to have sexier and fitter body however, only few pass the test. It is easy to lose weight when we know the things that would make us fat. You may be having a lot of exercises and drinking bunch of diet pills, but it doesn’t mean you’re on your way in removing fats.

Below are the foods we tend to eat which gives us tons and tons of fats and you may want to get rid of them:

1. High-Fat Meals
Are you fond of having midnight snacks? Do you prefer ordering a pizza rather than cooking homemade dishes? Well, you may not notice it but consuming so much of fast foods are making your fats grow bigger each day. Salad, dairy products, meats, chocolates, and other delicious snacks can be very satisfying but eating them often will make your fats burst no matter how much you exercise. When choosing meals, you may want to opt for low-fat dairy products and non-fat dressing for your salad. Watch out your consumption of red meat as well.

2. Non Fiber or Low Fiber Foods

Fiber plays an indispensable role in proper digestion and fast metabolism. Adding fiber-rich foods in your daily diet will definitely save your body from accumulating more fats. Fiber-rich foods are everywhere. You can pair your breakfast with an apple or some cereals. Pineapple is rich in fiber as well and contains L-Carnatine that burns fats.

3. Too much consumption of Non-Fat Foods
Even though you’re only eating non-fat foods, too much eating can still produce tons of fats in your body especially when you don’t have severe physical activities. Being moderate in eating is still the best diet tip.

4. Liquor
When you drink alcohol, your body fat-burning capacity slows down- tendency is more fats will get stuck on your cells every time you drink alcohol and eat. A study has shown that drinking beer or any other kind of liquor after meal can increase your calories up to 350! So before your stomach gets bigger, you may want to switch off your drinking vise.

5. Skipping Meal time

Skipping meals is a big “no no”. When you starve yourself in lunch, it’s pretty sure that you will crave more on dinner. Eating on the right time and having little low-fat snacks is highly recommended.
If you think skipping meals will make you thin, you’re just pushing yourself to gain more weight by making your body to crave for food. Tendency is to overeat.

While a lot of people all around the globe have the same problem “Finding a way to lose weight “ there are some valuable diets and exercises which can help to achieve that. You may here a lot of fat guys / girls who says that diets and exercises do not really work. If you make an analyze you will see that this guys have started their diets and their exercises but they never finished their goals to lose weight and do you know why? Well it simple because they have never kept their goals more than 1 week.
Diets and exercises are not lose weight schemes this should be known by everybody. Diets are a great way to lose unwanted fat from your body but they won’t work as fast as you thing. You may ask why? Well simple they won’t because you can’t lose 10 pounds from your body in just 1 week it is impossible. Diets are a proven method to lose weight but to lose weight slowly and if you do exercises everyday this can speed up the process of loosing weight from your body , if you exercise you will be healthy too so you shoot 2 things with one process.
Exercises : Well isn’t this a proven method that everyone knows? Than why we don’t use this simple process to loose weight , Why we don’t combine diets + exercise = Lose your fatness. Peoples are lazy this is in our gens. That’s why a lot of peoples fails in achieving their goals. It’s the same as on the businesses , school , loosing weight, if you make a goal and don’t keep trying to achieve that goal you will always fail.
So for losing weight set a goal. Let’s set a goal to lose 4 Kilograms for 2 months this can be achieved very easily. What you will need to do is to take 1 diet plan : Eat vegetables , fruits and drink fruit juices. Avoid eating unhealthy products (Carbohydrates) and also it is better to drink water than cola. Put up an exercises plan to exercise 30 minutes everyday. Than make this plan as a scheme for next 60 days. If you follow this plan you will lose more than 4 kilograms. You know why because you are working on it and you are trying to achieve it, you are not giving up.

Losing weight is not easy but it is not hard you just need to be serious and you will be happy in the end if you follow your guidelines. Diets are a part of every lose weight schemes so always try to follow some diets that have been proven as successful.

Diets are part of the daily life at most of the peoples that suffer from overweight. All the diets plans suggest to eat healthy and high calorie products. Well most of them suggest to eat vegetables , fruits and avoiding fast foods which can bring us unwanted calories. As we have read that all the diet plans have the same advices “Eat Healthy Avoid Fast Food”. But what are the best diet plans that really works and really help you to loose weight.
Loosing weight is a problem to those fat peoples who are looking to loose some weight fast , really fast. But let’s make a question can you really loose weight fast? In 24 hours , in 1 week? Lets face the truth it is not true that you will loose 5 pounds in just 1 week it is just not possible. At least I don’t know a method that can do that. If you are reading this article it means that you really want to loose weight but you want to loose weight with a plan. I’m going to share some diet plans that really works to get rid of fatness.
The Cabbage Soup : is a diet plan known for many years. This diet is about to eat cabbage soup to not be hungry so you will get low calories and when you have low calories it means that you are loosing weight. But be aware while using cabbage soup diet you must not eat fat food stuffs.
The Sonoma Diet as known as one of the best diets for loosing fat is all about eating vegetables , fruits and spinach with some almond oil. Until now this method has been proved as the best of the diet plans.
Vegetarian weight loss diet is a great diet plan. Why this diet is healthy and qualitative? Well vegetarian foods have low calories and have high proteins with a good amount of vitamins. In this diet plan you should avoid eating bread , pastas and macaronis or spaghettis. So basically this method is to stop eating bread 3 times a day and eating more fruits and vegetables.
All of these diet plans that I have mentioned have been approved to work. So if you are suffering from fatness than just apply on of this diet plans and you will be loosing weight but be patient as this methods aren’t get loose weight fast schemes.

 FDA Drug Safety Communication: FDA Recommends Against the Continued Use of Meridia (sibutramine)
Safety Announcement [10-8-2010] The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is recommending against continued prescribing and use of Meridi(sibutramine) because this drug may pose unnecessary cardiovascular risks to patients. FDA has requested that Abbott Laboratories—the manufacturer of Meridia—voluntarily withdraw this drug product from the United States market. Abbott has agreed to voluntarily stop marketing of Meridia in the United States.
Meridia was FDA-approved in November 1997 for weight loss and maintenance of weight loss in patients with a body mass index (BMI) greater than or equal to 30 (≥30) kg/m2 or for patients with a BMI ≥27 kg/m2 who have other cardiovascular risk factors. BMI is a measure of body fat in adults that is based on height and weight.
Patients with a BMI ≥30 kg/m2 are considered obese.
FDA’s recommendation is based on new data from the Sibutramine Cardiovascular Outcomes (SCOUT) trial, which demonstrated a 16% increase in risk of major
adverse cardiovascular events (a composite of non-fatal heart attack, non-fatal stroke, resuscitation after cardiac arrest and cardiovascular death) in patients treated with Meridia compared to patients taking a placebo (see Data Summary below). At the end of the trial (60 months), patients in the Meridia group lost a small amount of body weight compared to patients in the placebo group. FDA has concluded that the risk for an adverse cardiovascular event from Meridia in the population studied outweighed any benefit from the modest weight loss observed with the drug. In November 2009, and January 2010, FDA announced it was reviewing clinical trial data about a potentially serious effect on the heart from the use of Meridia. The links to these communications are listed below:
Early Communication about an Ongoing Safety Review of Meridia (sibutramine hydrochloride) Follow-Up to the November 2009 Early Communication about an Ongoing
Safety Review of Sibutramine, Marketed as Meridia Additional Information for Patients
If you currently take Meridia, you should:
Stop taking Meridia and talk to your healthcare professional about alternative weight loss and weight loss management programs.
Talk to your healthcare professional if you have any concerns about Meridia.
Contact your healthcare professional right away if you experience pain in the chest, heart palpitations, abnormal heart rate or rhythm, or other symptoms including dizziness and lightheadedness.
Dispose of unused Meridia in your household trash by following the recommendations outlined in the Federal Drug Disposal Guidelines: Take your Meridia out of its original container and mix it with an undesirable substance, such as used coffee grounds or kitty litter. The medication will be less appealing to children and pets, and unrecognizable to people who may intentionally go through your trash.
Put the medication in a sealable bag, empty can, or other container to prevent it from breaking out of a garbage bag. Report any side effects with Meridia to FDA’s MedWatch program using the information at the bottom of the page in the “Contact Us” box.
Additional Information for Healthcare Professionals FDA recommends that healthcare professionals:
 Stop prescribing and dispensing Meridia to patients.
 Contact patients currently taking Meridia and ask them to stop taking the medication.
 Inform patients of the risks associated with Meridia.
 Discuss alternative weight loss strategies other than Meridia with your patients.
 Be aware of the possible risk of major adverse cardiovascular events with patients taking Meridia and assess patients for these events if they present with any signs or symptoms of cardiovascular disease.
 Report any side effects with Meridia to FDA’s MedWatch program using the information at the bottom of the page in the “Contact Us” box.
Data Summary
The SCOUT trial was a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled multicenter trial conducted between January 2003 and March 2009 in Europe, Latin America, and Australia. The study population consisted of approximately 10,000 men and women aged ≥55 with a BMI between 27 kg/m2 and 45 kg/m2, or between 25 kg/m2 and 27 kg/m2 with an increased waist circumference. Patients were also required to have a history of cardiovascular disease (coronary artery disease, stroke, occlusive peripheral arterial disease) and/or type 2 diabetes mellitus with at least one other cardiovascular
risk factor (hypertension, dyslipidemia, current smoking, or diabetic nephropathy). All patients underwent a 6-week lead-in period on Meridia 10 mg. Eligible patients were then randomized to either placebo or Meridia 10 mg daily. Titration to Meridia 15 mg daily was allowed for individuals with inadequate weight loss on 10 mg daily. The mean duration of exposure to Meridia and placebo was approximately 3.5 years.
There was a 16% increase in the relative risk of the primary outcome event (acomposite of non-fatal myocardial infarction, non-fatal stroke, resuscitation after cardiac arrest, and cardiovascular death) in the Meridia group compared to the placebo group [Hazard Ratio (HR)=1.16; 95% CI, 1.03-1.31; p=0.02]. There was no between-treatment difference in cardiovascular death (HR=0.99; 95% CI, 0.82-1.19; p=0.90) or all-cause mortality (HR=1.04; 95% CI, 0.91-1.20; p=0.54). The primary outcome was driven by non-fatal myocardial infarction and non-fatal stroke (HR=1.28; 95% CI, 1.04-1.57; p=0.02; HR=1.36; 95% CI, 1.04-1.77; p=0.03, respectively).
The difference in mean percent change in body weight at Month 60 (end of the trial) between the Meridia and placebo groups was approximately 2.5%. Subgroup analyses were also conducted on three defined cardiovascular risk groups composed of individuals with: (1) type 2 diabetes mellitus only; (2) a history of cardiovascular disease only; (3) a history of cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes mellitus. FDA’s analysis demonstrated that the logrank test interaction pvalue for the cardiovascular risk subgroup analysis was 0.56, indicating that the magnitudes of risk for major adverse cardiac events in the three subgroups were not statistically significantly different. Data from the SCOUT trial was discussed at the Endocrinologic and Metabolic Drugs Advisory Committee Meeting, held on September 15, 2010 (for complete safety reviews and background information discussed at this meeting see: September 15,

Many people look in the mirror come the springtime, and are horrified to discover that they no longer fit into their favorite pair of shorts or nicest summer sun dress. They will often wonder how on earth this could have happened, especially since they don’t eat that much and in fact have been trying to lose weight.
In some cases, our habits sabotage us on our weight loss and diet plan without us even realizing it. In other cases, it’s the supposedly healthy foods we’ve been eating which are actually contributing to our weight gain.

Studies have shown that if we live in either the northern or southern hemisphere, we consume far more calories in the winter than the summer. In America, for instance, the seasonal holidays of Thanksgiving and Christmas and New Year's contribute so many calories in terms of food and drink that experts suggest that the average weight gain is about 20 pounds in one short six-week time period.
Clearly the eating and personal habits people indulge in during that period of time need to be looked at before a couple of days undoes an entire year's worth of "being good."
Even more insidious these days, however, is the "diet food" or "health food" that disguises itself as something nutritious, but can derail your diet completely before you ever even know you're off track.
For example, the diet meal replacement bars commonly used by people trying to cut their calories can actually have far more in them than the meals they are designed to replace. Fat, trans-fat, chocolate, sugar and salt would be just a few of the ingredients to watch out for as well with these tasty but treacherous treats.
So-called natural snacks make from sweet potatoes and other tubers can often have far more oil and salt on them than the more commercially popular brands.
Trail mix is another dreadful culprit, especially the kind designed for children, which often has colorful candies mixed in. The fat from the nuts is always going to be high in calories, and the dried fruit is often far more sugary than candy.
In addition, dried fruit has to be treated with preservatives in order to keep it fresh. These chemicals can cause allergies in some people, and cause water weight gain in a similar manner to salt. The same is true of the artificial food coloring in the candies or rice crackers added, and since when is milk chocolate with a bright sugar coating a health food?
Eating out is the biggest danger zone of all when it comes to hidden calories. If you want to go out with your friends to a local fast food place, the salad can sometimes be one of the worst choices on the menu due to cream-based salty dressings.
The soup, salad and breadsticks combo may sound like a light lunch, but again, sodium, cream, and refined white bread undo what could be an otherwise healthy meal.
The portion size too is another issue--since when is eating unlimited quantities of anything healthy?
Portion size is also a key issue if we go back for a moment to the chips and trail mix. Most people think the portion listed on the food label is the whole bag. They would be shocked to discover it is only 6 chips. In the case of the trail mix, it is more than likely only one quarter of a cup, about the quantity that would fit into the palm of your hand if the food were spread flat without stacking.
Many people who buy a mini frozen pizza would undoubtedly be surprised to note that in some cases the serving size is considered to be one-eighth of the whole pizza. Or even one quarter.
Hidden calories can lurk in even the most healthy-seeming foods if you buy anything in a package, or go out to eat. Unless you cook for yourself, you will have no control over what you are eating. So if you're concerned about slimming down this spring and summer, and keeping the weight off, try to look at some of your worst eating habits and start gathering great low calorie recipes to cook from home to avoid hidden calories, fat, salt and sugar.

There are many diet plans that claim to help you succeed in losing weight. But a great deal of successful weight loss has to do with common sense, not buying the latest book or purchasing a ton of weight loss foods, pills and supplements.
Here are a few handy tips you can use every day to help you lose weight, and keep it off.
-Get more sleep. Scientists now know that chemicals in the brain which are released when we sleep in a dark room actually help control weight loss. In addition, this is a matter of common sense. The more hours you are awake, the more opportunity you have to eat. We eat to even stay awake at times, for example, when we have a cup of coffee and a snack, usually a high calorie or high-carbohydrate one. So get more sleep and watch the weight melt away.
-Timing is everything. Scientists have shown that the most important meal of the day is breakfast. It gives you the fuel you need to get through school or office work, and helps keep blood sugar even and cravings down. We also know that eating too many calories at night after 7PM tends to pack on the pounds. Make sure you don’t eat too late, but don’t eat so early either that by 9PM you’re ready to snack.
-Trick yourself into eating less. There are a number of ways to cut down on the number of calories you eat per meal, to lose weight and still feel full. For instance, try having 8 walnuts or a piece of cheese and a couple of olives as an appetizer about twenty minutes before you eat your main meal. They will help you feel full, and also help cut cholesterol, because they are healthy fats. Soup very filling, and we often associate soup and salad at the start of a meal with going out for a nice dinner. We can feel really satisfied with a lot less fattening food if we start each lunch and dinner with soup and salad so long as nothing is cream-based.
-You are what you drink, too.
Another weight loss success strategy is to look at all the calories you are getting from what you drink. Soda, fruit juices, wine, beer and alcohol can all add up to a lot of calories really quickly. They can also create havoc with your appetite, especially alcohol. It often makes people hungry, or lures them into eating fattening food on the way home from the bar. Fruit juices, even the 100% ones, can add up to a lot of calories if people drink a glass with every meal.
Milk and cream-based drinks such as those in popular coffee houses are a diet disaster waiting to happen. They can have more saturated fat and calories in them than an entire fast food meal.
A couple of glasses of low fat milk have been identified as good for helping to lose weight, but avoid too many smoothies, shakes and other milky drinks. If you want a refreshing fruity beverage, try a spritzer made of seltzer with a dash of juice, and even a splash of wine for a low calorie cocktail.
These simple tips can help you watch out for empty calories in your diet, and slim down without starving.
